A-Pocket

A-Pocket started with a finance app I paid for every month and never really liked. So I built the one I actually wanted.

📅 How it happened
27 April 2026
The idea
I was paying every month for a finance app that never quite did what I needed. Instead of complaining about it one more time, I sat down and wrote out the app I actually wanted — screen by screen. It took me thirty-seven minutes, and I never changed a word of it. Almost all of it is in A-Pocket today.
8 May 2026
I started building
Eleven days after writing it down, I began building it for real — after work, on nights and weekends.
10 May 2026
It got its name
A-Pocket — your money, in your pocket.
25 May 2026
It got its face
The logo, the icons and the yellow you see everywhere in the app today.
7 June 2026
Also on the computer
A-Pocket stopped being only a phone app — your finances can be opened on a computer too.
23 June 2026
Three languages
English, Portuguese and Spanish, across the whole app. Still true today: nothing goes out unless all three are ready.
28 June 2026
The first testers
Twelve people got the app before anyone else and spent two weeks trying to break it. A good part of what you use today works because of them.
4 August 2026
Live on Google Play
Ninety-nine days after that first afternoon, anyone in the world could install A-Pocket.
Built by one person
A-Pocket was built by one person, with AI helping along the way. That same kind of AI assistant is now part of the app: you can ask about your money in Claude or ChatGPT, on any plan.
